Mum's The Word

Mother’s day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May by a multitude of countries around the world. We cherish the bond between mother and child and the countless contributions mothers have made to society. From the beginning of time the Greeks and Romans honoured their mothers with various festivals.

The phrases “second Sunday in May” and “Mother’s Day” were trademarked by Anna Jarvis, an American in 1914. She purposely apostrophized Mother so that each mother, in every home would be celebrated as an individual.

 

Mother’s Day at Westmount Florist is a festival of its own. We carry a wide variety of flowers, green and flowering plants and giftware that would delight any mother.
