Festa Da Flor

Back home in Portugal, more specifically in the islands Azores and Madeira, there is a beautiful festival called Festa Da Flor (flower festival). The festival takes place in the beginning of May and I would like to tell you a little bit about it.
The city hall organizes this festival that goes on for a week. There are music groups, outdoor activities for all ages and all the flower growers and florists display their best products for everyone to see. The most beautiful parade takes place, the schools, the florists and members of city hall all have their own floats, which have been decorated with the most amazing spring and exotic flowers. Vibrant costumes are made, music is composed and dances are choreographed to make this parade the most dynamic and active one you have ever seen. Hours of work go on to prepare and organize the entire event. In the end the most amazing result that you can imagine. Please enjoy this little taste of Festa Da Flor!
