Growing, Growing Gone!

When Nicholas Rousseau from “By Nature” walked into our 360 Victoria Ave location, we immediately knew he was going to blow our minds with what he was holding in his hands. You have seen them popping up in home magazines and a few stores around town, and you probably stop and stare. They were recently featured in our “What’s Hot” for summer blog. Growing walls are hands down one of the coolest things Westmount Florist has been able to offer. Straight off the plane from British Colombia, Nicholas didn’t need to say much to get us to bite, we loved everything about the growing wall. Easy to assemble, effortless to water and one simple step to hang, these unique little gardens have proven to be the perfect addition to our shops. Don’t have a green thumb? Did I mention they are designed with a small tab that moves when they need to be watered? They are so simple even someone without a green thumb would keep this garden going.

These easy to assemble gardens come with three parts; the pouch of soil, the frame and everything you need to mount your new Wallflower garden.  I am going to be honest, filling the made pouch of soil with green plants takes a bit of practice…but don’t worry, we will plant everything for you. The mechanics and engineering behind your growing wall have been carefully thought out and constructed in the most amazing way. The watering system is brilliant, a wick rope drinks water from a small basin and when the basin is empty a plastic tab becomes visible to let you know it needs water.
