Back home in Portugal, more specifically in the islands Azores and Madeira, there is a beautiful festival called Festa Da Flor (flower festival). The festival takes place in the beginning of May and I would like to tell you a little bit about it.

Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Jewish New Year, usually falls late into the summer season, and often flows into autumn. In Montreal and at Westmount Florist, this means arrangements will be made with local cabbages, roses, berries, hydrangeas, orchids or any other flowers which have that rich fall feeling.
Each year, well before Rosh Hashanah occurs, our Westmount Florist design team meets to collaborate on a featured arrangement for the special holiday. Often, honey and apples are incorporated into the design to symbolize good wishes for a sweet New Year. Sunflowers are in abundance this time of year and are often used in our arrangements and bouquets of cut flowers. As a superior Montreal florist year after year, we get requests for these happy flowers to be used in centerpieces. Customers are encouraged to bring in their own glass vases, silver bowls or any other wonderful keepsake for us to fill with beautiful seasonal flowers to adorn their tables.
Classy, elegant arrangements are constantly being created and shipped out all over Montreal all week long. During this holiday, it is very popular to send flowers to family, close friends and business associates. Whether you decide to send one of our featured designs, a flowering plant, or perhaps a bouquet of cut flowers, Westmount Florist will always select the best for you during Rosh Hashanah.
