On the evening of Wednesday, March the 16th, 2011, Westmount Florist was a-buzz with excited activity. People walking in off the street saw our black-curtained window and empty store and asked, “Are you closing??”
“No way!” we said, “We’re having a PARTY!”
That evening we officially launched our brand new website and new logo. What a joy it was to share our excitement, our relief and pride in our accomplishment with some of our nearest and dearest clients. The store was actually anything but empty. We had cleared out some of the display tables to make room for guests (at least 200), but along the walls and on the furniture were some of (if I do say so myself!) the most gorgeous floral displays ever! We had masses of beautiful blooms in every colour imaginable, stunning arrangements from our new “Signature” line and scrumptious gourmet hors d-oeuvres from the guys at Catering By George!
The staff from both the Westmount and Pointe Claire locations were there in their finest black outfits, to better distinguish themselves from the crowd, and to better show off their amazing corsages and boutonnieres. Each of us chose a unique piece that we wore all night. It was a chance to show off a little of our personalities, from sweet and romantic to daring and bold. Christine, of course paid homage to her father, George Pickrell, with a knockout pink carnation, his favourite flower.
The evening was a huge success and needless to say the new website is too, since you’re reading this blog right now! We’ve had tons of compliments and accolades on our venture so far. Most of the praise must go to our fearless leader, Christine, as well as Brent and Lauren, Westmount Florist’s third generation. It’s been a ride and I have to say, I’m glad I came
