I Love New York!

Author: Christine

New York has always been good to me and on my recent spur of moment trip it was extra special, especially being a florist. I was invited by one of my best friends who just so happens to be a florist too. The purpose of the trip was to check out the Waldorf Astoria where he is planning his upcoming wedding to his partner. He proposed to his partner with a ring in New York City and has always had a love affair with the city so it seemed the right place for the same sex union to take place (not to mention, it’s legal in NYC). The hotel is as old and gorgeous as you can imagine and the suite where the wedding is taking place will be just perfect for the intimate ceremony. We’ve planned everything from the flowers, candles, music, photography, champagne, food…right down to the color suits the handsome boys will wear.

They say most things come back into style, but it’s been over 40 years and I have yet to see someone wearing anything even close to lime green tights with yellows daisies. I still tease my mother about buying them for me, she chuckles and says how “snappy” I thought I looked back then. I guess I’ll just have to take her word for it.

Asia - Creating a Mandala

Author: Christine

Whenever I go away on a holiday I always manage to find myself wandering though the local flower shops, hotel lobbies, restaurants and even department stores checking out the floral displays. Sometimes it drives my travel buddies crazy -they see it as work addiction. Never the less I can usually manage to drag them along and once in a while they will get just as excited as me!

Cookies, Flowers and Kids!

Author: Christine

I can still remember as a young girl going into Select Pastry located next to our dad’s first Westmount Florist location at 4154 St. Catherine St. I loved going there with our mum, Dora to pick up some petit fours, homemade pies, special cakes for our birthdays and just about anything else you could salivate over.
