Turning 50 in life can be exciting and traumatic at the same time. Your body starts to do things you never thought could happen to you and your body can’t do things you thought you’d be able to do forever !! While turning the big 5-0 for me was exciting and really didn’t take too much work the thought of a business turning 50 takes a tremendous amount of work. Very few business make it to that amazing milestone and I am so proud to be able to along with my family carry on what our fabulous father and mother started 50 years ago. I know for a fact that unlike my turning 50, Westmount Florist turning 50 took a whole lot of hard work every single year.
George Pickrell, the founder of Westmount Florist in Montreal had always dreamed of his 4 children working along side him in the industry he loved so much. His dream came true as Peter, David, Stephen, Christine and their cousin Danny began working side by side with their mentor. The 5 of them have a total of over 150 years experience in the floral industry.
The Pickrells believe and respect the importance and strength of family. It is with this philosophy that they believe each member of their incredible team is like family. We know that the success of Westmount Florist is in its people...our people, our team, our family.
Many members of our team have been in the floral industry for years! Some have even owned and operated their own shops in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. They have brought their knowledge, experience and creativity to our Westmount Florist team and have added their personal touches to make us a truly versatile shop. Westmount Florist has a diverse team of designers, reigning from all over the world. Each one has a different style and method of design based on their ethnicities. Sri Lanka, India, Japan and of course, Quebec are just a few places where our team members pull their inspiration from.
With over 30 members on the team, each one takes pride in being the best in the industry and has a genuine passion for their job. Whether designing a bouquet of fresh cut flowers, planning your wedding flowers, creating a hand tied bouquet or simply repotting your Phalaenopsis orchid, you will see the pride they take in satisfying you, our valued customer.
