Florist Abroad - Japan

Last November, my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to travel to Japan. It was our first time in Tokyo and there was so much to do that, when I heard that it was the Chrysanthemum festival (full disclosure- Chrysanthemums have never been my favourite flowers), I certainly wasn't going to go out of my way to see them. Fortunately, I didn't have to!

Throughout November, the outdoor spaces around the city's temples and shrines are filled with the most spectacular Chrysanthemums you will ever see. It was easy to understand why the mum, which comes in over a hundred varieties, holds such an important place in Japanese culture. It is seen as a symbol of autumn and is the flower of the Imperial House of Japan.Take a look at some of the beautiful chrysanthemums we saw at the Meiji and Togo Shrines. I'd say they are definitely fit for an emperor!
