SAY WHAT ?????????

As someone who is never at a loss for words (at least thats what I’m told) I find it strange when I ask a client what sentiment they would like on the card that will accompany their flowers being delivered, they reply “I don’t know what to say” or even stranger, “you write the card for me” !!! I have to admit I often think I can have a ton of fun writing a message to someone I don’t know but in reality I’ve never done it. That being said, Valentines is right around the corner and to help those of you who don’t know what to say here’s a list to choose from. (You’re welcome)

LOVE WHAT YOU DO....DO WHAT YOU LOVE !

I remember years ago when I first decided to join our family business my dad saying to me “you’ll never be a millionaire but you’ll love what you do and you’ll meet the nicest people” ! George, my dad was a wise wise man. Sorry to say I am not a millionaire but happy to say he was right about loving what I do and meeting the nicest people.

Making a Floral Dream Come True!

As the daughter of a florist I had flowers surrounding me my entire life, whether I liked it or not. I know that sounds strange, but looking through old family photos I can’t believe my parents actually made me wear those floral dresses accessorized with lime green daisy printed tights! They say most things come back into style, but it’s been over 40 years and I have yet to see someone wearing anything even close to lime green tights with yellows daisies. I still tease my mother about buying them for me, she chuckles and says how “snappy” I thought I looked back then. I guess I’ll just have to take her word for it.

Cut the Stems! Cut the Stems!

Cut the stems!...and did I mention cut the stems?! Every time a client comes in to purchase a single stem or a bouquet of cut loose flowers our team reminds them to cut the stems before placing them in water. More times than not the client says, “oh can you cut them for me”? or “I’m going right home in 2 minutes” ! The sad part about this is that if flowers are not re-cut they will not survive more than a day, if a day at all!
